We’ve warned you all about Tyrese time and time again. And I think, by now, most of us have gotten the message. He could teach a class in misogyny. Hell, the short-lived “It’s Not You, It’s Men” show on OWN was an attempt at that.
Foolishly, I thought that once Tyrese tied the knot, he would fall back on his woman-bashing. Because theoretically, now that he’d found “the one,” his “Black Queen” there would be no need to exert any further energy into addressing women and their flaws.
But, of course, I was wrong.
Yesterday, he posted a very stranger picture of an alleged lace front and then wrote an even longer, even more strange caption to accompany it.
The first sentence told it all. Tyrese witnessed a group of women talking about men, maybe even bashing them. If I was betting, I would guess that he likely saw himself in a few of their comments. And instead of addressing them personally, or doing some self reflection, or staying out of his feelings, the result is a lashing out on social media. Really, I don’t know how a conversation about inadequate men, whether the claims were true or not, prompted a lecture on beauty rituals and standards.
Black Ty is a hot mess y’all. It’s been women, Black women, who’ve supported his music and even his acting career and still anytime he has a message for the community, a reprimand for bad behavior, it’s always directed toward us.
