You know Angela, also known as Angie Beyince, as the cousin to Beyoncé Knowles. She’s also been known as the former long-time assistant to her powerful cousin and held the position of VP of Operations at Knowles’s entertainment and management company, Parkwood Entertainment.
But what I didn’t realize while looking up the start of Michelle’s part in “Girl” today (“Girl, take a good look at yourself/He got you going through hell…” for those who can’t remember), was that she’s had writing credits on quite a few popular Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child songs.
I can’t tell you if that meant she was out here coming up with hooks or if she just helped when it came to wordplay, but Angie is credited as not just cousin and assistant, but songwriter as well.
Check out 10 popular Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child songs that you didn’t know she had a hand in creating.
“Naughty Girl” by Beyoncé
Along with Beyoncé and producer Scott Storch, Angie had writing credits with Robert Waller, Pete Bellotte and Giorgio Moroder (shout out to the late Donna Summer, who had an interpolation credit for “Love to Love You Baby”).
